July 22, 2009 - Harry J. Chororos and Eric K. Groteke, DC, CCIC, presented “Predictions of a Physical Meltdown” to the University of South Florida, New College of Florida Lifelong Learning Academy." This presentation focused on the education and awareness on certain direct and indirect physical indicators you can track as likely warning signs of deteriorating physical function. These indicators can help you quantify and stratify your risk of injury to a specific body region. The higher your risk of injury...the higher the probability is that you are trending towards a physical meltdown.”
July 8, 2009 - Harry J. Chororos and Eric K. Groteke, DC, CCIC, presented “Osteoarthritis, What a Pain!” to the University of South Florida, New College of Florida Lifelong Learning Academy. This presentation focused on the essential self-assessments that can detect your personal risk factors that are present in people suffering from the progression of osteoarthritis. This course will educate you on simple movements one can administer to themselves to detect the warning signs of this debilitating condition and gain insight to managing the progression of this disease."

April 1, 2009 - was accepted into the peer reviewed journal, The Journal of Medicine. This study the culmination of 4 and 1/2 years of research led by Eric K. Groteke, DC. The Quantification and Tracking of Osteoarthritis was published with the contribution of Joseph V. Pergolizzi, MD and David Chicoine and New York Chiropractic College, Seneca Falls, New York, and the Department of Anesthesiology, Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC published to validate its use as a musculoskeletal health risk appraisal for osteoarthritis. As published in this article, "Musculoskeletal Disorder Reporting ( ) is a physical assessment examination tool incorporating multidisciplinary exam elements to reveal sensitivities of non-acute or subclinical injuries in the most common areas for occupational injuries, namely the neck, shoulders, wrists, legs, and certain areas of the back. Of particular importance in the is the ability to identify weak spots in patients who are yet asymptomatic. Since osteoarthritis is a progressive disorder, such subclinical manifestations can readily progress to symptomatic and even debilitating, mobility-limiting injuries.
The goal with is to create an easy-to-use musculoskeletal baseline exam to be used consistently in osteoarthritis patients to identify weak spots. Knowing these areas of the body will help the physician and patient develop and implement a tailored treatment plan that can help prevent further injury by allowing the patient to avoid specific activities or situations that could potentially aggravate vulnerable spots. Such awareness could potentially help prevent future injuries, limit aggravation to existing injuries, and possibly lower the incidence of injuries in such patients."
